Designed and built on a demanding schedule, a 10,100 square foot soothing healing environment addresses the special safety concerns of behavioral health in a natural color palette. With 8 single and 8 double rooms, each with en suite washroom, the secure unit houses 24 patients in a local hospital setting. Four inviting control stations with extensive areas of safety glazing allow staff maximum visibility of patient areas. The semi-circular north wing holds the social activities areas. Three double patient rooms on the central corridor are near the social action. The remaining rooms are in the quieter west wing. This arrangement allows for housing patients in the location best matching their desire for social interaction.
