Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital
Information Desk

Designed to provide a centralized orientation and wayfinding point, the Information Desk project sought to add clarity to the main outpatient and urgent care building of the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts, with updated finishes and a clear organizational circulation scheme. Adding a level of individualized attention for entering patients and visitors, the central volunteer desk is on axis with entry approach, flanked by a line of future electronic check-in kiosk stations set within privacy enclosures created with contemporary laminates and translucent resin panels. Dynamic ceiling soffits add a gestural counterpoint to the lines of pedestrian circulation, drawing emphasis to the axis of the volunteer desk. The project also involved updates to the nearby waiting room, the addition of a side check-in area for Ambulatory Care services, and a triage and screening room adjacent to the main information station for immediate patient attention.
