The Facility Master Plan provides a guide for future campus development at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital (ENRMVH). Impacting more than one million square feet of existing space and proposing hundreds of thousands more, the plan describes how the campus can evolve to meet the Hospital’s healthcare, education, and research mission, serve changing needs, and address population projections. The Plan effectively blends the most appropriate use of existing buildings and infrastructure assets with future facilities to achieve specific goals. A wide range of evaluations were included, from building use zones and program needs to circulation, access, parking, wetlands, life safety, mechanical systems, and security. Three Master Plan options were developed in detail, each of which provides a unique vision for the campus as a whole, and facility development, including a Community Living Center, Research Center, and Welcome Center.
