The Emergency Department addition required removal of the much beloved, original hospital building “Angel Door” to allow the portion of building in which it was located to become interior space. The monumental scale of the door and surround precluded moving the full assembly to any indoor space and it was decided that the lintel would be displayed. HAI worked closely with the Hospital to remove, repair, and display this important piece of history in its new home on a plinth in the main hospital elevator lobby.
